A Blogger's (Silent) Poetry Reading
Today, I offer my contribution to help celebrate the Feast of Brigid, aka Groundhog Day. The invitation from Grace's Poppies was to post a poem that I like on my blog. I can't say that this is my very favorite poem; but, ever since I was a little girl, I have loved this poem by Ogden Nash.
The Hippopotamus
Behold the hippopotamus!
We laugh at how he looks to us,
And yet in moments dank and grim,
I wonder how we look to him.
Peace, peace, thou hippopotamus!
We really look all right to us,
As you no doubt delight the eye
Of other hippopotami.
Ogden Nash
(1902 - 1971 / USA)

:-) This is a cute poem. I had never read it before - thanks for the smile for a blustery Saturday!
